Somhale team up in getting what is rightfully theirs
Media personality Somizi Mhlongo and his estranged husband Mohale Motaung have out their differences aside and teamed up to sue television producer Legend Manqele for failing to pay them R1.5 million for the broadcasting rights of their wedding ceremony.
According to the letter obtained by Sunday World, Somizi and Mohale's firm, Elahom Events, made an agreement with Manqele's company for an R1.5 million fee to shoot and broadcast their wedding.
According to the lawyer, they wrote Legend a letter in July 2021 begging him to pay Somhale, but he stated he needed paperwork from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) as well as documentation from his staff before he could react to the letter.
Legend supposedly requested and got additional proof, but the pair claim they have yet to be paid. If Manqele does not pay the money, the lawyers have threatened to take legal action against him and possibly liquidate the company to retrieve the funds.
Mohale "pleaded ignorance" and stated "it's not true," according to the publication, while Somizi declined to comment. Legend has it that it is a battle between Somizi and SARS. He told the publication, "Somizi must take it up with SARS."
