RIHANNA EXPLAINS HER RELATIONSHIP WITH A$AP ROCKY.

 Rihanna has spoken out about her relationship with A$AP Rocky, claiming that he was in the "friend zone" for years before they started dating.

In a cover interview with US Vogue, the singer revealed that while she had a soft spot for the rapper when they first met in 2012, their relationship only grew more serious during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side," said the Fenty Beauty founder, who is expecting the couple's first child.

They are thought to have first met when they collaborated on a remix of her song, 'Cockiness,' and shared the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards a decade ago.

Rihanna has dated rapper Drake and has been in a long-term relationship with billionaire businessman Hassan Jameel, while Rocky is said to have dated model Kendall Jenner.

The singer stated that she eventually let down her guard with Rocky, and that during their time together during coronavirus lockdowns, he 'became her family.'

During the summer of 2020, the pair went on a road trip between Los Angeles and New York, where Rihanna cooked for them on a "janky grill from Walmart," which she still owns, and Rocky tie-dyed T-shirts. 

During the Christmas season of that year, the couple traveled to Rihanna's home country of Barbados, where Rocky met the singer's 'hard to please' mother.

"My mother has a great read on people," she explained. "She observes first, then moves slowly." I suppose I'm like that as well. To this day, she won't even look at some of the guys I've dated. But she was captivated by him from the start."
