FROM MUFASA TO MAKHADO AND ALL OF US #COTTONFEST2022!

 Cassper Nyovest rocked the stage on Saturday night at the CottonFest2022. This was the first CottonFest since the passing of its creator, rapper and fashion mogul Ricky Rick on the 23rd of February 2022.

Cassper Nyovest was the headline artist on Saturday when he rocked the cotton stage so hard it flipped the haters’ table over, tweets woke up happy and feeling a bit more positive about Cassper more than they usuallydo. One tweet posted “Don’t be fooled by twitter clout. @casspernyovest  is loved and he deserves all the love. He’s a great performer. Gets the crowd involved.”

As spectacular as Cassper’s performance was, it was also very sad as Cassper was once very close friends with Ricky Rick but they had a falling out, he passed on before they could resolve their issues. He was quoted saying “This one is for my brother. You planned to bring me out as a surprise tonight and we didn’t have that moment. My first time on your stage and you’re not her in physical form but I know you’re here with me in and the rest of us in spirit. I love you and I miss you Rikhado.” Many other big names also performed alongside Cassper Nyovest on Saturday and and many more are due to take the stage on Sunday.

Riky may be gone but his work lives on and continues to inspire a new generation of cotton eating talent, we never die we multiply, cotton eaters till the death of us.

BLACK COFFEE, A SOUTH AFRICAN DJ, HAS CREATED HISTORY BY WINNING A GRAMMY AWARD.

Nkosinathi Maphumulo, better known by his stage name Black Coffee, a South African DJ, is the first African DJ to win a Grammy. On Monday, April 4th, 2022, this successful DJ took home the award for best dance/electronic album at the 64th Grammy Awards . This is the first time in the category that a South African producer has won or been nominated. DJ Black Coffee, a South African music producer, won Best Dance/Electronic Album, beating out competitors such as Major Lazer and Ten City, with his seventh studio album, Subconsciously, released in 2021. Diplo, Pharell Williams, Usher, Sabrina Claudio, and Msaki were among the guests on the 12-track album, which was published in February 2021.
