The kings of hip-hop after the release of an explosive story accusing AKA of gender-based violence, AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, and Nadia Nakai have threatened the popular tabloid Daily Sun with a R800 000 lawsuit.
According to the newspaper, AKA “moered” Nakai, who is in a relationship with him in Ghana, in front of her pals on Monday.
Moonchild Sanelly was present at the afterparty where Nadia and AKA were when the alleged event occurred, but he refused to comment on the occurrence.
AKA has once again been accused of physical and verbal assault. The “Fela in Versace” singer and his rapper girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, have both denied the allegations.
AKA allegedly assaulted Nakai and their promoter while in Accra, Ghana, for work purposes, according to the Daily Sun. Rudolph Baloyi, AKA’s attorney, sent a legal letter to the Daily Sun in response to an article that purportedly ‘defamed’ AKA by implying that he assaulted Nakai and the promoter, has a temper, and is violent. The event occurred while the pair was in Ghana, according to reports.
The journal published a false, malicious, and defamatory piece written by Quincy Mahlangu, according to their attorney Amos Mananyetso’s court letter.
According to a source, AKA and Nadia had a heated fight, which concluded with him assaulting her. According to the legal letter, the internet piece should be taken down and a public apology should be issued. Daily Sun has also been sued for R800 000 in damages in civil court.
The Daily Sun has since taken down the web piece. They claim there is no drama between South Africa’s newest “it couple.” They’ve clarified the status of their relationship, claiming that their new love is without controversy. In a joint statement, AKA and Nadia Nakai reassured South Africans that their love is still going strong.
According to the attorney, the charges made in the article are false and defamatory. They also chastised the media for publishing the piece despite their denial of the allegations in a statement. The Daily Sun has altered its mind about some of its claims in its piece, but it hasn’t changed its mind about the rest.
The 34-year-old praised their trip to Ghana as pleasant and beautiful in a statement posted to his Twitter page. “Outsiders have warped what we thought were casual exchanges with industry peers and associates. There was no physical or verbal altercation between us, just to clear the air. We’re fine, and there’s no drama between us; instead, we’re rejoicing in our individual triumphs from this incredible journey “
